Insight into numerical solutions of static large deflection of general planar beams for Compliant Mechanisms

چکیده

Compliant Mechanisms (CMs) have been a hot research spot in recent years due to their distinguished mechanism concept from conventional rigid-body mechanisms: CMs can transfer motion, force, and energy only through the deflection of flexible components. Therefore, accurate efficient kinetostatic modeling for these elementary components plays rather important role regarding conducting synthesis studied compliant mechanism. In this paper, we reviewed commonly-used beam methods CMs, most which are essentially dedicated handling geometrically nonlinear Euler–Bernoulli theory. Mathematically speaking, model is boundary value problem (BVP) an ordinary differential equation (ODE). We then introduced certain commonly used numerical BVPs solve where straight beams circular initially curved (ICBs) as two example cases. also demonstrated detailed derivation results along with corresponding insights on them well. Besides, modeled 2 representative revolute mechanisms (straight-beam-based cross-axis joint circular-beam-based joint) prove feasibility synthesizing using methods. Error analysis presented thereafter, confirms effectiveness • formulated large beam-deflection general BVP. CMs. problems. provided comments about all mentioned
